After an introspective year, our home design aesthetics have shifted, Instagram data compiled by DIY.com indicates that we have all been left feeling a little blue—at least as far as trending paint colors are concerned.

An overwhelming 46,589 hashtags on Instagram reveal Farrow & Ball’s Hague Blue is the ‘It’ shade this year. However, the deep blue-green shade that is topping the charts is not the only shade of blue trending. Stiffkey Blue (also from Farrow & Ball), Little Greene’s French Gray, Benjamin Moore’s Hale Navy, and Dulux’s Denim Drift are among the top ten most hash tagged trending paint colors filling our Instagram feeds in 2021.

So why Hague Blue? A deep rich blue with green undertones has an overall calming effect while also exuding confidence, and a feeling of being grounded, which after the past year, is no surprise we would all be looking for the calm amidst the storm of events.
